In the indigenous language, Sailung means “100 Hills.” In all, 100 hills are visible from the Sailung viewpoint. It is absolutely impossible to describe the view from the summit; you must see it for yourself.

How to get to Sailung.
If you decide to take a local bus, it will depart from Araniko Bus park, Jabibuti. Buses to Bhaise are available; however, please disembark at Bagkhor. You can now continue by walking or using a shared vehicle. Since there aren’t many lodging options up there, I would advise you to stay at Bagkhor. Hike first thing in the morning.
If you are thinking of going on a day trip, I would suggest that you start your trip early if you choose to take private transportation. If you have an extra day, you can customize the trip to suit your needs.You can follow my previous recommendation and hike instead of staying.
Riding a bike with friends was fun, but since foreigners aren’t used to the roads, I wouldn’t suggest it to them. Together with your fellow travelers, your journey will be remembered forever. Even though we left later than expected, we reached Bagkhor. The locals were very welcoming to us while we were there. We got up early, but we were still unable to see the sunset. Bicyclists are permitted to ride their bikes just beyond the entrance barrier. We made the wise choice to leave our bike at the hotel.
Things to know before the Hike.
After you get to the sailung view point gate, there is hotel and there you can preorder the meal. If you need to buy water or small snacks , you buy here, As there is no shops and water source untill you reach the View points. I recommed you buy fruits from bagkhor for the hike . The hike will atleast take you an hour. This place is noteworthy for both Hindu and buddhist. As a belief buddha have walked this path and Sailungeshwor Mahadev is one of the important temple for Hindus. After you reach the view point you can see the Langtang Range, Manaslu Range ,Langtang , Ganesh Himal and many more.
Best season to visit.
Sailung the hill , retains its beauty in its own unique ways with every season change. During the summer they appears dry and hot but its compensate with the chill winds from the mountains. But in winter the hill lets the snow cover itself , making it enchanting and grace in white. During the rainy season it , it reserve the water that the village nearby use later. With the Right equipment its not a hard trial even in rainy seaon. The best season probably is the spring , the smell of the newly flowred Rhododendron forest, freshly grown flowers , grass m tree leaf. Its a treat to the eyes to see the mountains and the nature during this time.

This Place have a hugh potential to be the next local and foreigner toursit hub with proper infrastructure and hotels. Although they dont have a shops in the trial , somehow the non degredable waste are getting here. Seriously people littering on the way is a Crucial Environment problem.To be honest toursim is a great for the development of the district. But with more and more tourist visits here, the waste management have become a problem here. Local government body have to step up to solve the problem.
